چکیده

As there are different computational methods for simulating problems in generalized mechanics, we present simple applications and their closed-form solutions verifying a numerical implementation. For such benchmark, utilize these analytical examine three-dimensional simulations by the finite element method (FEM) using IsoGeometric Analysis (IGA) with aid of open source codes, called tIGAr, developed within FEniCS platform. A study so-called wedge forces double tractions help to comprehend roles displacement solution as well significance comparing closed form given boundary conditions. It is found that results good agreement if considered. also presented how become necessary order maintain equilibrium strain gradient materials.

Computational Evaluation of Strain Gradient Elasticity Constants

Classical effective descriptions of heterogeneous materials fail to capture the influence of the spatial scale of the heterogeneity on the overall response of components. This influence may become important when the scale at which the effective continuum fields vary approaches that of the microstructure of the material and may then give rise to size effects and other deviations from the classic...

Free Vibration Analysis of Microtubules as Orthotropic Elastic Shells Using Stress and Strain Gradient Elasticity Theory

In this paper, vibration of the protein microtubule, one of the most important intracellular elements serving as one of the common components among nanotechnology, biotechnology and mechanics, is investigated using stress and strain gradient elasticity theory and orthotropic elastic shells model. Microtubules in the cell are influenced by internal and external stimulation and play a part in con...

extremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude

a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...

Static analysis of rectangular nanoplates using exponential shear deformation theory based on strain gradient elasticity theory

In this research, the bending analysis of rectangular nanoplates subjected to mechanical loading is investigated. For this purpose, the strain gradient elasticity theory with one gradient parameter is presented to study the nanoplates. From the best knowledge of authors, it is the first time that the exponential shear deformation formulation based on strain gradient elasticity theory is carried...

The Efficient Computation of Bounds for Functionals of Finite Element Solutions in Large Strain Elasticity

We present an implicit a-posteriori finite element procedure to compute bounds for functional outputs of finite element solutions in large strain elasticity. The method proposed relies on the existence of a potential energy functional whose local minima, over a space of suitably chosen continuous functions, corresponds to the problem solution. The output of interest is cast as a constrained min...
